The overhead power cable

Over the last 20 years, the industry faced new developments of High voltage (HV) transmission lines in order to increase the “ampacity” (current carrying capacity).

The overhead cables commonly provide power or data transmission. They are often used in overhead distribution and transmission lines used to transmit the power for long-distance. Overhead transmission lines uses bare conductors which are placed at a height from the ground and to maintain clearance between the conductors and ground, supporting towers are used.
