GAUDER GROUP SHANGHAI is a subsidiary of Setic Pourtier SAS, a French manufacturer of rotating machinery for the cable industry. GAUDER GROUP SHANGHAI is located in Shanghai, China.
GAUDER GROUP SHANGHAI subsidiary ensures service continuity for Asian American clients, focusing on spare parts distribution and service sales (commissioning, maintenance, upgrades).
Job Description and Responsibilities :
Position: Industrial Equipment Commissioning Engineer
As a commissioning engineer for industrial machines, your main mission will be to supervise and coordinate the installation and commissioning of industrial equipment at customers sites. You will ensure that the machines operate optimally, complying with safety and quality standards.
Mission Objectives :
- Expected outcomes: Customer signs off on equipment acceptance at the end of the mission.
- Specific projects: Commissioning of Setic-Pourtier and Setic Made in China equipment, upgrades on machines in production at client sites, on-site troubleshooting, and promoting C2S.
- Strategic alignment: The commissioning engineer contributes to the company’s overall strategy by optimizing operations, strengthening competitiveness, and supporting long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Preliminary Preparation:
- Analysing technical specifications of machines.
- Planning and organizing commissioning steps with the technical team.
- Supervising Machine Installation:
- Supervising a safe transport and handling of equipment.
- Supervising a correct assemble and machines installation according to Setic-Pourtier instructions.
- Configuration and Setup:
- Configure machine parameters based on client needs.
- Perform initial adjustments and tests to ensure proper operation.
- Testing and Verification:
- Conduct startup and operational tests.
- Verify compliance with requirements.
- Client Training:
- Train client personnel on machine use and maintenance best practices.
- Provide technical support and answer user questions.
- Reporting and Follow-up:
- Document installation and commissioning phases.
- Maintain regular follow-up with the client to ensure satisfaction.
- Preliminary Preparation:
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in the installation and commissioning of industrial machinery.
- In-depth knowledge of electromechanics and automation; especially PLCs, DRIVES and HMIs main brands like: SIEMENS, ROCKWELL, ALLEN BRADLEY, PARKER
- Ability to read technical diagrams and interpret plans.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Adherence to safety standards and quality procedures.
Location of the assignment: :
Setic- Pourtier machines are assembled in LigangTown, Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province and installed all over the world at various client sites, so frequent travel required.
The role involves regular travel to customer locations for machine commissioning and setup. Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential.- Duration of the assignment: permanent position after a 6 months evaluation period.
- Start date: ASAP.
- Languages requirements for the assignment: English (spoken/written), French is a plus
Salary & Training :
- Annual compensation: To be determined based on profile

Supervision & Support :
- Local supervisor: you will report to a supervisor located in LigangTown, Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province
- Oversight and support: you will be supported by Setic-Pourtier engineering department and oversighted by Setic-Pourtier Customer Care responsible
